A challenging route combining some of the toughest climbs in inland Almería. From Tíjola, the route starts with the endless ascent to Tetica de Bacares (33.1 km at 4.4%), a long climb that tests riders from the very start.
To conquer this iconic high-mountain summit, the route tackles the northern face of Puerto de Velefique — one of Almería’s most spectacular climbs thanks to its winding switchbacks and expansive views over the Filabres range. After that, a descent to Olula de Castro sets up the final major challenge: Calar Alto from Gérgal — a long, steady, and mentally demanding climb (17.6 km at 7.0%).
The ride ends with a fast descent through Serón before returning to Tíjola, closing a gran fondo loop with three legendary passes. Ideal for epic training days or as prep for mountain events.
