A demanding grand fondo loop starting in Tíjola that strings together some of the toughest climbs in northern Almería. It opens with a brutal ascent to Collado Ramal — dubbed “the Marmolada of Almería” — where the first 4 km average above 10%. This climb links directly to Calar Alto, one of southern Spain’s highest and most iconic peaks.
From the astronomical observatory, a long descent unfolds via Aulago, offering panoramic views over the Tabernas desert. After reaching Gérgal, the final challenge begins: the climb to Collado de Venta Luisa from the north, a demanding ascent with irregular gradients.
This route is all about endurance and elevation, with two climbs exceeding 1,200 m of gain and high-mountain atmosphere throughout. Ideal for long rides with stable weather.
