From the sea to one of the region’s giants
This long-distance ride starts in Berja and descends to the Mediterranean coast, using the quiet old N-340 road. Once at Castillo de Baños, the coast is left behind, and the demanding climb to Haza de Lino begins. It’s a 17.4 km ascent averaging 6.8%, starting practically at sea level.
Haza de Lino: long, steady, and impressive
With more than 1,260 m of vertical gain, Haza de Lino is a climb that could rival some Pyrenean passes. The road surface is excellent, and traffic is minimal. The scenery includes dry slopes and pine-covered hillsides as you gain altitude.
The descent leads toward Albuñol, and two more climbs follow: Trebolar and La Parra. Though shorter, they are demanding—especially after such a long day in the saddle.
A complete day in the mountains
The return to Berja includes descents, rolling terrain, and short climbs. This route is ideal for cyclists looking for a full mountain experience, combining sea views, long climbs, and varied terrain.
